FruitShare wants to pick your fruit. The program which launched its second season in August, harvests fruits from residential yards. The fruit is shared with the homeowners, volunteers and the Barrie Food Bank. Last year FruitShare picked and raised over 2,500 pounds of fruit for the Barre Food Bank.
FruitShare is a good solution for home owners who are not able to access the fruit in their own backyard or who view fallen fruit as a nuisance. Most importantly, the program brings the community together to enjoy local organic healthy fruit.
