Barrie Food Bank selected as a Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie charity
recipient in Barrie, as local food insecurity continues to grow
BARRIE, November 6, 2025 – From November 17 to 23, Tim Hortons is kicking off the holiday
season with smiles and kindness, with a return of its national Holiday Smile Cookie campaign,
where 100% of proceeds are donated to local charities and community groups across Canada,
including Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
Barrie Food Bank is again this year’s proud recipient of Holiday Smile Cookie proceeds from all
26 Barrie restaurants. The partnership comes at a critical time as the food bank faces alarming
growth in the number of individuals seeking food support, with more than 8,100 visits last
month, +16% from last year, including record numbers of seniors and children.
“We are in the middle of a hunger crisis right here in Barrie,” says Karen Shuh, Executive
Director of the Barrie Food Bank. “The simple act of buying a cookie helps fill a grocery cart for
a neighbour who’s struggling to put food on the table. The need has never been greater, and
this campaign couldn’t come at a more important time. The generosity of Tim Hortons, their
teams, and this community is critical in helping us keep up with the growing demand.”
Last year, proceeds from the one-week Holiday Smile Cookie campaign raised an incredible
$54,593.72 for Barrie Food Bank. This year’s campaign will again play a vital role in helping
reach the food bank’s holiday fundraising goal of $1,160,000, funds that ensure families and
individuals in need can access nutritious food through the winter season.
The Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie is a delicious white-chocolate sugar cookie with red and
green sprinkles baked into it, each hand-decorated with a perfectly imperfect white smile.
Holiday Smile Cookies are a fun and meaningful way to share joy with family, friends, and
coworkers while giving back to the community—one cookie at a time.

including pre-order forms, how you can send cookies to your favourite charity on “Charity Share
Day” and how to sign up to volunteer at participating Barrie restaurants.
