Jack Woolsey had an idea: he wanted to help. So he reached out to Barrie Food bank to ask how he could make a difference. With a little guidance and a lot of heart, Jack took the lead and rallied his family to collect food from their neighbours.

What started as one thoughtful question turned into an incredible initiative. Jack’s determination and courage led to 900 lbs of food collected, all donated to support families facing hunger.

We were honoured to welcome Jack back to the food bank as he proudly delivered the results of his hard work. His story reminds us that age doesn’t limit impact. Passion does the work.

To Jack’s parents, thank you. You are raising your children with empathy, awareness, and a strong sense of responsibility for the world around them. It’s families like yours that give us hope for the future.

Jack, we’re so proud of you. And to all the young changemakers out there: you can do this too. Start a food drive with your family, friends, or school together, we can build a stronger, more caring community. No act is too small, especially when it comes from the heart.
