On March 31, 2012 the Easter Appeal will kick off for the Barrie Food Bank.

A Hopping Hand is needed to help replenish the shelves for what we forsee will be a busy spring. Your food donations go to help the almost 22,000 families and individuals who use our services annually. Non perishable food donations can be dropped off at any Zehr’s, Sobey’s, Metro, No Frills, Foodland, The Price Chopper and Food Basics in Barrie. Donations can also be made at the Food Bank Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00pm and on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon. In addition we will be open for donations on Saturday April 7, 8:30 – 4:00.

Most needed food items would include powdered milk, baby food, can fruit and vegetables, can tuna and luncheon meats, various dry pastas, soups, peanut butter, jam, can stew and condiments such as mustard, ketchup and relish.

Our goal for the Easter food appeal is 60,000 pounds of food, this will replenish our shelves and carry us through the spring and into the summer months.

The goal for our financial appeal is $45,000. Cheques can be mailed to Barrie Food Bank, P.O. Box 145, Barrie ON L4M 4S9. Or they can be dropped off at 42 Anne St S. unit 2. (behind Pioneer Pools) Donations can also be made online by going to our donate now section through Canada helps.
